CITY OF EMBER RATED MOVIE
This is an OK movie for light, family entertainment, but nothing noteworthy that I can recommend.įavorite scene:In Doon’s house with his Dad and all of his mechanical Inventions. My favorite characters were the greedy Mayor of Ember, played by Bill Murray, and the old, tired pipe works laborer, Sul, played by Martin Landau.
CITY OF EMBER RATED GENERATOR
The remaining people live in the City of Ember, deep underground, with the only light provided by a large generator that is starting to fail more often, causing complete blackouts. Just OK.This was an average movie about the futuristic world where no one lives on the earth’s surface due to the environment being damaged over the years from too much pollution and green house gases. Least favorite scene:The actual ride/escape to outside it was a little ridiculously crazy and after starting underground and going down many falls they arrive what would be several hundred feet above ground, and then the movie ends too quickly there.

CITY OF EMBER RATED HOW TO
Though the end was a little abrupt, it was a great adventure for the whole family.įavorite scene:When Doon and Lina finally discover how to read her instructions and get the machine working that will ultimately take all the citizens to the outside world. The whole city was both murky and magical, and the characters were interesting and well acted. The premise of the movie was very interesting, especially the way inhabitants choose their life’s career from a hat. No one is allowed to leave the city, but years ago Doon and Lina’s parents tried to leave, and Doon and Lina are determined to try also. Interesting. The “City of Ember” is buried deep below the ground and runs off a generator that is on its last leg. Least favorite scene:When Lina and Doon try to leave the city, Lina goes back for her younger sister, Poppy, but Doon doesn’t seem to care about leaving his dad behind. The characters played their parts well and kept me entertained, but no one stood out as someone I could really relate to that much or feel sympathy for.įavorite scene:When Lina and Doon figured out how much danger the city was in and when they started their race against time to figure out the clues that were left for them. For example, I thought it was strange how they all used electricity but no one knew how to light a candle or match. The story was that the world was in total darkness and their electronic city was the only place with light. Least favorite scene:When the giant mole was attacking them, the mole was gross and scary.Įntertaining.The underground city of Ember was very interesting. I would recommend this for my friends and younger kids.įavorite scene:The way Sul, the old pipe works guy, would answer questions with “It’s not my job!” Also it had a lot of action in it, like the scene when they went on the boat and almost got killed by the giant waterwheel. Rated PG for mild peril and some thematic elements.Īction.I liked this movie because it was a good idea of an electronic world underground. The Busch Family from Trabuco Canyon reviewed “City of Ember” starring Bill Murray, Tim Robbins, Martin Landau, Saoirse Ronan and Harry Treadaway.
